First trip this bank holiday weekend - to Oban in Argyllshire. Just me and my better half, Alison. Four nights on a lochside site. Got the wine boxes in, got the books and music sorted. Know where the best fish & chip shop is. Found a company that does wildlife days out on the water - have always fancied whale watching, but a few seals will do for starters. May take a fishing rod too. That's her (the motorhome I mean!) outside our house; its an Elddis Autoquest 100, on a Peugeot Boxer for anyone who might want to know.
Hope that on Sunday, my weekend is made by Newcastle doing the business at Villa and Hull failing to do likewise against Man Utd. Just wondering if I'd prefer not to know to ensure the trip is unspoilt. But then again, how would I cope not knowing?
Never ever been in a motorhome before, let alone driven one 360 miles. For us, minus our three large and now (well almost) adult kids, this is the start of our new life - we hope! Spain and Portugal in June, and Cambridge Folk Festival (albeit with daughter for this one as a 21st birthday treat) in July/August to come, and we are planning Bruges and the Isle of Man later this summer.
